Park reservations for Jasper, Banff for 2016 open January 13th and 14th.
Director of Visitor Experience with Parks Canada, Ed Jager says due to a recent change, reservations for Yoho National Park will remain on April 20th.
“We did not want to make the change to an earlier date because one was made previously and we wanted to give users of that system the opportunity to get familiar with the on-line approach.”
Jager says it’s never a bad idea to book well in advance.
“Things start to pick up the May long-weekend and typically have enough availability for that time but people should be making reservations ahead of time in order to get a preferred spot.”
From late June on every weekend plus provincial holidays in August are in high demand.
All three facilities are UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
In celebration of Canada’s 150th birthday in 2017 any park passes bought this year will be good for the following year and will include free entry to all national parks in Canada.
