Two former Prince George Cougar defenceman will be recognized by the team on Saturday with WHL Alumni Achievement Awards.
Vice-President of Business, Andy Beesley says it’s always good to honour those such as Eric Brewer.
“Eric Brewer is a huge part of our organization, not only he is one of our most famous alumni he is also one of our owners who is a super-interesting guy interested in the business and is excited about being involved with the Cougars.”
Dr. Jeff Zorn will also be recognized by the Cougars and Beesley says the d-man is another important part to the team’s history.
“Dr. Jeff Zorn is another part of the pillar of what the Cougars are all about. We understand hockey is more than just a game on ice it is so much more including a university scholarship for every player that comes here.”
Brewer played over 1000 games in the NHL and captured a gold medal at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City.
Zorn joined the Cougars in the 1997-98 season and then spent five years at the University of Alberta playing for the Golden Bears hockey club.
The Cougars play the Victoria Royals tonight (Friday) and Saturday at 7 at CN Centre.
