World War II’s liberation of the Netherlands will be celebrated Saturday.
A special tulip commemoration ceremony will be held at Veteran’s Plaza near City Hall starting at noon.
Organizer Corey Walker says since World War II, the Dutch have given tulips to Canada as a thank-you for freeing their country from the Nazis.
Walker says most tulip ceremonies are celebrated in May, but Prince George’s tulips aren’t ready until a month later.
