The fading playoff hopes of the Prince George Spruce Kings took another hit last night (Sat) after dropping a 4-3 road decision against the Coquitlam Express.
Austin Mcilmurray opened the scoring just 32 seconds in for the home team to make it 1-0.
Nick Ponak would even things up for the visitors at 7:07 followed by a marker by Jackson Cressey on the power play to put the Express ahead 2-1.
Just before the end of the period Jarod Hovde tied things up at 2-2 after 1.
In the second, Mcilmurray potted his 20th of the season to give the Express a 3-2 at the end of 2 periods.
Matthew Stief drew the Spruce Kings even at 10:22 but the game-winner came of the stick of Express defender Taylor Green at 19:35 ripping one past goaltender Liam McCloskey.
Coquitlam outshot Prince George 33-23.
Liam McCloskey made 29 saves in a losing cause.
Prince George heads to Langley tomorrow (Sun) to play the Rivermen 17 points out of the final playoff spot in the Mainland Division.
