The number of people receiving Employment Insurance in Prince George went up in October.
Stats Canada Analyst Lahouria Yssaad says while the percentage may seem high, we only saw a slight bump in the number of recipients.
“The city saw an increase of 3.4% but when you look at the absolute numbers it represents only 60 more people.”
1850 people collected benefits in October compared to 1790 in September.
In BC, 54,710 residents are currently on EI.
