A new report says activity in the forest industry from the US to China has been slowing down this year, which could have an effect here in Northern BC.
Lumber Market Analyst Hakan Ekstrom with Wood Resources International says imports to China and exports from Canada have been down, this year.
He says mills in PG are dependent on the forest industry in the US and China.
Ekstrom thinks it’s a temporary blip on the improved markets for lumber, overall which he calls good news for BC sawmills and can look forward to a solid second half of the year and a good 2015.
