The Railway and Forestry Museum is looking for help as the holiday season kicks into high gear.
“We’re usually closed between Christmas and the New Year, but because we have so many lights and other things, I’ve opted to stay open,” says Executive Director Ranjit Gill. “I am still giving my staff time off, so it’ll just be me. If I could get some help, that would be wonderful.”
Volunteers would be helping out with food and drink, gift shop, photo buttons, park maintenance and the minirail train on the following dates:
4 – 8 p.m. from the 18th to 23th of December
2 – 6 p.m. on December 24th
4 – 7 p.m. December 26 thru 30th
The Celebration of lights Boasts 100,000 lights, bonfires, live music, and rides on the mini-rail- and even visits from Santa and Mrs. Claus.
Gill adds there will be a notable change to a familiar feature.
“We have a miniature Christmas Village put on by Lisa Smith, and typically it’s upstairs at the museum… But that lacks accessibility, so this year we put it in the Russell House! So if you have a stroller, wheelchair, or have troubles with stairs, it won’t be a problem this year.”
