26 thousand dollars has been awarded to REAPS in Prince George through the BC Community Gaming Grant program.
Terri McClymont with the Recycling and Environment Action Planning Society says the money covers a wide range of topics.
“It may cover paying for gas, insurance, postage and new resources related to classrooms presentations with a small portion going to staff wages as outlined in our proposal.”
REAPS fosters environmental stewardship in the Regional District of Fraser-Fort George.
REAPS offer various forms of community outreach and public awareness in schools and garden workshops where people learn about composting, organic gardening and recycling.
