PG drivers enjoying a break at the pumps

Drivers in Prince George are grinning from ear to ear since gas prices are the lowest in the province.

Senior Petroleum Analyst for Gasbudddy.com. Dan McTeague says things could get even better.

“Could prices go lower..the likelihood is yes but it’s a day to day situation, you could see prices at 96 cents a litre but they could also fall between 85 and 86 cents a litre.”

Several oil refineries south of the border are now running at full capacity which also helps.

“Those refineries are back on their feet now. They are producing a lot of gasoline during a slow demand period and have been able to play catch up.”

Prince George also benefits from getting it’s gas from Edmonton rather than Washington state which is where the Lower Mainland receives it’s gas.

McTeague says if the Canadian dollar was worth as much as it was last year we would only be paying between 82-83 cents a litre.
