Premier Clark has released a statement following Friday’s attacks on different areas of Paris.
“Like all Canadians, I was shocked and sickened by the news from Paris. For centuries, France has been a beacon of light and example for the world, and remains one of our closest friends and allies. Tonight, all Canadians and British Columbians stand with them, both in grief for those who were killed, but also in resolve. Those who commit such acts of
violence want to change us, and our shared values. They will fail.
My thoughts and prayers are with the victims, their families, and with
security personnel who put their lives at risk to keep others safe.
Vive la France.”
Reported death tolls range from 100-150 people.
Seven assailants were killed, with some dying after detonating bombs, officials said earlier today.
The terrorist attacks were an “act of war” by ISIS, French President François Hollande has condemned the attacks as an ‘act of war’ by ISIS.
More than 350 people have been injured in the attacks, with at least 99 of them in a critical condition.
