An Ontario court has ruled all, but six locations of The Bay will be liquidating its stores starting Monday, including PG’s Parkwood Place location.
The six locations that won’t be part of the liquidation include the company’s flagship downtown Toronto storefront as well as their retail outlets at the Yorkdale Mall and Hillcrest Mall.
Quebec locations in Montreal, Laval and Pointe-Claire will also survive.
Friday’s announcement is related to Canada’s oldest department store attempting to find a way to pay back the millions of dollars it owes to its creditors and not shut down completely.
The Hudson’s Bay company, was founded in May of 1670.
The changes will impact more than 9,000 employees.
