UNBC celebrates its 21st convocation, Friday.
The University has come a long way since the first convocation in 1994 of six graduates.
Associate Registrar Shelley McKenzie says they have seen a total of over 11,000 graduates since then, a majority of those from the north.
McKenzie says the average now is around 800 grads a year, which is the same as this time around.
The festivities begin at 9 a.m. with a procession from the Bentley Centre, followed by a ceremony at the Charles Jago Sport Centre, and photos on campus.
Graduation ceremonies will be held at regional campuses next week, including Terrace on June 2nd at the R.E.M. Lee Theatre at 2 p.m., Gitwinksihlkw at the WNN Affiliate Campus at 1 p.m., on June 3rd and in Quesnel at the North Cariboo Community Campus at 2 p.m. on June 5th.
