The City of Prince George’s Official Community Plan (OCP) will go to a public hearing this week.
At their meeting on February 24th, City Council gave the new Official Community Plan Bylaw second reading, and scheduled the public hearing for March 19th at 7:00 pm.
If significant amendments are made to the OCP following the public hearing on Wednesday, an additional public hearing will be scheduled before proceeding to third reading and then final adoption.
The OCP review was publicly launched on September 18th, 2023.
The document outlines a long-term vision and comprehensive framework for development, land use, and community growth through to 2050.
The latest phases included public engagement including:
- Three community open houses attended by more than 350 people
- 12 pop-up events engaging more than 655 people,
- Four roundtable discussion with various community organizations and agencies
Feedback has been incorporated into the draft OCP since the start of the current phase, including feedback from groups such as BC Transit and the Regional District of Fraser-Fort George.
