The winter season in PG and BC could be one of the warmest on record.
Doug Lundquist with Environment Canada says this year’s El Nino is expected to be strong, but nothing like 1997.
“This one looks to be amongst the strongest ever. I think it was 1997 we had the strongest one ever and we think this one could be similar in size but slightly weaker… but there is still a chance we could get a few cold spells, and that’s natural.”
Areas north of the city are expected to be snowier and wetter while the central interior could see more rain than normal.
