An emotional and inspiring pre-game ceremony, a Mega 50-50 Jackpot, a building near capacity and the home team winning at CN Centre for the third time in just four nights.
Yes, the Prince George Cougars 4-2 Friday night victory over the Kamloops Blazers was memorable.
The game summary and highlights can be found here.
The Cougars Fight Cancer Night began with six-year-old Nixon and two-year-old Mavrik, who are both battling the dreaded disease, dropping the puck in the pre-game ceremony.
The Cougars then built up period leads of 2-0 and 4-1 in securing the victory before 5,490 fans on a night where the 50-50 Mega Jackpot surpassed $126,000.
The home team wore special black jerseys with pink trim that are being auctioned off online with the funds raised going to the BC Cancer Foundation.
Terik Parascak, who leads the team this season in points and assists, scored the opening goal and set up two others.
Borya Valis and Riley Heidt notched a goal and an assist each and Viliam Kmec also found the back of the net for Prince George.
Tommy Lafrienere and Blazers leading scorer Emitt Finnie were the only Kamloops players to score on Josh Ravensbergen, who was solid again in net, blocking 29 of 31 shots.
The Cougars struggled on the power-play going 0-for-4 while the Blazers were 1-for-4 with the man advantage.
Truly an incredible night 🩷
