‘Sugarcane’ viewing registrations completely filled ahead of film screenings

The Exploration Place in Prince George is completely booked for both screenings of Oscar nominated, Sugarcane.

Originally, there was only one screening of the film, which covers the investigation into the St. Joseph’s Mission residential school near Williams Lake, but within the first few hours of registration, it was fully subscribed.

Executive Director, Alyssa Leier said Many people reached out afterwards and were disappointed they were not able to register in time.

After getting permission to do a second screening by the Sugarcane impact team, it filled up almost immediately.

While it’s unlikely there will be another screening of Sugarcane, Leier said they’d like to offer more educational screenings in the future.

The screenings for the film are tomorrow (Friday) and March 7th, from 6pm to 8pm.
