The Independent Investigations Office of BC (IIO) is investigating a motor vehicle incident that occurred in Prince George last night (Monday).
At around 10:20 p.m., police attempted to conduct a traffic stop of a red Chevrolet pickup truck near 10th Avenue and Irwin Street.
The Chevrolet drove off and was later involved in a collision with another vehicle near 15th Avenue and Highway 97.
The driver of the Chevrolet was arrested at the scene.
BC Emergency Health Services attended and determined two occupants in the other vehicle had suffered serious injuries who were then taken to the hospital.
The IIO was notified of the incident shortly after it occurred and has commenced an investigation.
Initial steps will seek to confirm the extent of police involvement and what role, if any, that may have played in the injuries of the two people.

BC Emergency Health Services says three people were taken to hospital and are in stable condition following a motor vehicle incident at the intersection of 15th Avenue and Highway 97.
The Prince George RCMP confirmed to MyPGNow.com there were no fatalities during the incident.
The Independent Investigations Office of BC is taking over the file and a media bulletin is expected to come out later today (Tuesday).
BC Emergency Health Services stated paramedics received the call at 10:41 PM where several ambulances along with primary and advanced care paramedics along with a supervisor attended.
Paramedics provided emergency medical treatment to the three patients before heading to UHNBC.

A late-night motor vehicle incident in Prince George has snarled traffic at the intersection of 15th Avenue and Highway 97.
According to Drive BC, the crash closed the road between 10th and 15th avenues.
Several PG RCMP cruisers along with the local fire department and paramedics were all on site.
