After a down year in 2023, 2024 was a record year for building permits in Prince George.
According to a report being presented to Prince George City Council at tomorrow’s (Monday) meeting, the City issued a total of 417 building permits, worth a combined total of $267.1 million last year
The record value number was driven by a mix of different types of developments:

December was a relatively strong month, with 23 permits worth a combined $6.3 million issued.

When compared with the same month in 2024, January saw a similar start when it comes to values for the City.
A total of 29 permits were issued last month, worth a combined $12 million.
Included in last month’s values were two permits for new multi-family dwellings with a combined eight units.

Also at tomorrow’s meeting, City Council will consider second reading for the Official Community Plan bylaw, and will hear a review on the snow and ice control policy.
The full agenda for the meeting can be found here.
