WHL:

The Prince George Cougars had a slow start to begin the long weekend yesterday with a 3-1 loss to the visiting Everett Silvertips.

That concluded the Cougars point streak over six games, though they will have another chance to pick up a win against the Silvertips tonight at 6:00.

BCHL:

It wasn’t all doom and gloom for Prince George hockey, as the Spruce Kings had a dominant 5-2 victory over the Cowichan Valley Capitals yesterday.

The Spruce Kings find themselves with a 3 game winning streak, with an opportunity to extend it tonight in Nanaimo against the Clippers at 7:00.

BC Elite Hockey League:

The U-18 Cariboo Cougars picked up a 2-0 win yesterday, over the Vancouver North West Hawks.

Both teams play again at 10:15 this morning at the Kin Centre.

Canada West Basketball:

The UNBC Timberwolves women’s team start their final weekend of the season with a 79-36 loss to the UBC Thunderbirds.

As for the men’s team, they were defeated 83-54 to the Thunderbirds.

It’ll be the same match-ups at home tonight, with the women’s game at 5:00 and the men’s game at 7:00.

NHL:

The Four Nations Face Off continues today with Sweden taking on Finland at 10:00am.

Then at 5:00pm, Canada takes on USA.

The NHL regular season returns Saturday, February 22nd.
