In fact, a turning point came late in the 2nd period when Prince George, down a goal, had a two-man advantage for 66 seconds but after a Cougars timeout they failed to tie the game.
The Silvertips built up a 2-1 lead after 20 minutes and there wasn’t another goal until Eric Jamieson put one into an empty net (his 9th of the season) with 1:11 remaining in the 3rd period.
15-year-old exceptional status defenceman Landon Dupont was as good as advertised.
He opened the scoring on a power-play at 8:28 of the first period and was strong at both ends of the ice playing tons of minutes in all the key situations for Everett.
