WHL:

The (30-15-4-2) Prince Cougars host the league-leading (37-9-4-3) Everett Silvertips tonight (Friday) at 7:00 and Saturday night at 6:00.

With 17 regular season games left, the Cougars remaining schedule has 9 home and 8 away; four games each against Victoria and Wenatchee, three against Everett (including the two this weekend), and two each against Vancouver, Kamloops and Kelowna.

Prince George is riding a 6-game point streak and sits second in the BC Division, four points behind the (31-14-3-5) Victoria Royals with P.G. holding two games in hand.

The Royals remaining schedule has 9 home and 6 away; four games each against P.G. and Vancouver, two each against Portland and Spokane and one each against Everett, Kamloops and Kelowna.

The Prince George Spruce Kings visit the (22-14-3) Cowichan Valley Capitals tonight and the (20-18-2) Nanaimo Clippers Saturday with their next home game on February 21st against the (26-8-5) Chilliwack Chiefs.

The (15-20-3-1) Spruce Kings are seven points out of a playoff spot with 15 games left.

BC Elite Hockey League: 

The Under-18 Cariboo Cougars host the (13-11-3-4) Vancouver North West Hawks this
morning (Friday) at 10:30 at the Kopar Memorial Arena and Saturday morning at 10:15 at Kin 1.

The (22-6-3-1) U-18 Cougars are in first place by three points over the (22-9-0-1) Valley West Giants with both teams having four regular season games left.

NHL: 

The 4 Nations Face-Off tournament

(Game 2 in Montreal)

United States  6  Finland  1

Canada, coming off of Wednesday’s 4-3 overtime victory over Sweden, will play the USA Saturday night at 5:00 in Montreal and will also meet Finland Monday morning at 10:00 in Boston.

The NHL regular season is on hold until Saturday, February 22nd.

The (26-18-11) Vancouver Canucks play their next game February 22nd at Vegas.

Cross-country Ski

The Teck BC Cup #2 cross-country ski races are featured at the Caledonia Nordic Ski Club with hundreds to participate from all across the province.

The epic racing schedule starts Saturday with the Mass Start (Classic Technique) from noon to 2:30 PM and will continue Sunday with the Interval Start (Free Technique) from 9:30 AM
till noon.

Canada West Basketball:

The UNBC Timberwolves wrap up their Canada West Basketball season when they host the UBC Thunderbirds tonight at 6:00 (women) and 8:00 (men) and Saturday night at 5:00 and 7:00.

Tonight’s women’s game is Shoot For the Cure Night and the T-Wolves will be wearing brand new pink cancer-themed jerseys.

The UNBC women are 4-14 while the UNBC men sit 1-17.

The UBC women are 16-2 while the UBC men have a 13-5 record.
