Spruce Kings go winless on the road

The Prince George Spruce Kings went winless on the road this weekend after losing 5-2 to the West Kelowna Warriors tonight (Sat).

West Kelowna led 1-0 after 20 minutes after a Liam Blackburn goal at 4:48.

The Warriors would double their lead shorthanded in the second period when Blackburn would score his goal of the game to make it 2-0 after the middle frame.

In the third the home side would extend it’s lead to four when Jake Harrison and Jonathan Desbiens scored a minute apart.

Prince George would finally break the goose egg courtesy of a power play goal from Jake LeBrun.

Both teams would trade goals a few minutes apart from Kyle Marino and Nik Ponak.

Sam Tanguay made 45 saves in the loss as the Spruce Kings were outshot 50-19 overall.

The Spruce Kings kick off a four game home stand next weekend against the Coquitlum Express at 7pm from the Coliseum.
