The Future of Re-use sheds discussed in Vanderhoof

The fate re-use sheds in Vanderhoof was discussed at a special meeting last night at the Nechako Seniors Friendship Centre.

Resident, Karen Sheffers says the district should consider a different option.

“Have a trial period where we open it at reduced hours with either staff or volunteers to just see what we are dealing with and then we can come up with a plan.”

Sheffers adds the sheds proved to be a crucial resource.

“It’s a valuable resource to the community we have a lot of people who make a living selling this stuff as is off-cycling it so we see a lot of potential.”

The issue was brought to light after gun ammunition and drug paraphernalia was discovered in several sheds in the Bulkley-Nechako area.

Five more meetings will be held throughout the regional district over the next two weeks.

One of them will be held tonight from the Fraser Lake Recreation Complex starting at 6pm.
