The win streak hits three for the Prince George Cougars as they picked up a 5-2 win over the Tri-City Americans.
“We’re playing really good right now, I thought we started a little slow, but we got better as the game went on,” said Cougars Head Coach and GM Mark Lamb on the Post Game Show on 94.3 the Goat.
The score could have been a 2-1 Tri-City lead after the marathon first period, but goals were called off after lengthy reviews for each team.
The Cougars came started the second period like they were shot out of a cannon, piling on 11 shots before the Americans could muster one.
“[Our top guys] took over the game, and we had some guys on defence really played well too,” Lamb said.
“It was a good team effort, but the guys that get all the points, if they can outplay their top players, that usually happens.”
The Cougars scored twice in one minute early in the second, Borya Valis started the party with a powerplay laser to beat Ryan Grout.

“He’s just turned into a horse, a 200-foot player that goes back and forth, it doesn’t matter who he plays with, he just keeps bringing it every night,” Lamb said.
Less than a minute later, Aiden Foster rang a shot off both posts but didn’t score, Riley Heidt finished off the rebound.
