Fortis BC confirmed to MyPGNow.co, crews made the repairs in the area of 15th Avenue between Ewert and Freeman Streets.
Personnel determined the source of the odour to be an underground gas main at the site. Crews located the source and made the repair.
The road has since re-opened to traffic.
Crews were called about the foul smell at about 5am.

Fortis BC is making repairs to their gas system in Prince George.
The company said it’s due to a report of a potential leak where the local fire department closed 15th Avenue and between Freeman and Ewert Streets this morning (Friday) to allow crews the space to make onsite repairs.
Fortis personnel determined the source of the odour was due to an underground gas main at the site.
A timeline has not been set as to when the gas will be under control or when repairs will be wrapped up.
