Moira Green of Prince George placed 57th out of 98 women during the IBU European Open Championship in Italy on Wednesday.
The local biathlete finished the competition in 53:34, roughly six and a half minutes behind Germany’s Johanna Puff who claimed the gold medal.
Rounding out the top three was fellow German Marlene Fitchtner who took the silver medal while Sweden’s Anna-Karin Heijdenberg claimed bronze.
Green was first in all three of her Junior races at the 2025 International Biathlon Union (IBU) Regional Event and Biathlon Canada Youth/Junior World Championship Trials, hosted by the Caledonia Nordic Ski Club in PG earlier this month.
The 20-year-old is also preparing for the world championships in Sweden, February 26th to March 5th.
