PG Airport sees 8% bump in passenger numbers during 2024

Passenger traffic at the Prince George Airport continued its upswing with 450,494 travellers going through YXS in 2024, an 8% increase compared to 2023.

This continues the steady growth the airport has experienced over the last 4 years bringing it closer to pre-pandemic passenger levels.

Other highlights included Pacific Coastal Airlines launched new non-stop service to Kelowna, the arrival and commissioning of a new ARFF truck, terminal upgrades including new carpet and washroom renovations, and the completion of an equipment storage expansion started in 2023.

Looking ahead to this year, Sabrina Angus stepped into the role of Interim President and CEO following the retirement of Gord Duke while the search for a permanent replacement is underway.

“2024 was a significant year for the Prince George Airport as we celebrated milestones that reflect our commitment to reconciliation, growth, and community” said Sabrina Angus, Interim President and CEO for the PGAA.

“As we move into 2025, we’re embracing this year of transition and opportunity, focusing on initiatives that enhance the passenger experience and strengthen our relationships with
the communities we serve.”

Other priorities include restoring food and beverage services at YXS.
