Teck BC Cup returning to Prince George next month

Prince George’s Caledonia Nordic Ski Club will have an influx of cross-country skiers with the 2025 Teck BC Cup number 2.

Around 300 skiers of different ages across the province compete for points which are tallied at the end of the season to determine who goes to national competitions and provincial teams.

Media Liaison, Kevin Pettersen says the tournament is an opportunity to see familiar faces, great skiing, and show off the community.

“The skiers really enjoy coming to ski in Prince George. Because we’ve hosted everything from local events up to world events, we put on a really great show.”

“We’ve just hosted the world championships last year. We have all those pageantry things that we can put up, and make this feel like a world level event.”

The event will begin on February 14th with official training for the sprint events on the 15th, and interval start on the 16th.

While the event is already quite popular, Pettersen says they hope to have more people join the festivities and bring cowbells for a more Nordic atmosphere.

The 2025 Teck Cup will start Friday, February 14th at 10:00am, with Saturday and Sunday’s start time at 9:00am.
