Mounties in Prince George are investigating an overnight shooting Thursday and Friday at a commercial building on the 1600-block of Fourth Avenue.
Investigators were informed of the shooting by staff at the business on Friday morning (January 17) when employees began to arrive.
Staff stated to police the last employee left the building around 9:00 p.m. and the building was re-attended at 6:00 a.m. the next morning.
A truck unrelated to the business, which was parked outside of the building, was also struck during the incident.
“We understand that it can be traumatic for victims of violent crimes such as this to process what their next steps are, and we want to remind everyone that our Victim Services unit is available to support victims of crime throughout all stages of an investigation. The more participation victims or witnesses have in an investigation, the more information we can collect and put towards a fulsome analysis of what occurred,” stated Cpl. Jennifer Cooper.
The exact nature of the incident is still under investigation.
Investigators are asking anyone who was in the area between 9:00 p.m. on January 16 and 6:00 a.m. on January 17 that may have witnessed anything unusual or would have dash camera or video surveillance to contact an investigator.
