The 22nd Annual BC Natural Resources Forum kicks off in Prince George tomorrow. (Tuesday)
The theme of this year’s event is BC Natural Resources: Purpose, Partnerships and Prosperity.
“This theme highlights how purpose-driven initiatives, meaningful partnerships, and shared prosperity are interconnected and essential to creating lasting positive impacts in British Columbia and beyond,” said Lheidli T’enneh Chief Dolleen Logan.
“For Lheidli T’enneh – and many other First Nations and communities – these elements pave the way for sustainable opportunities to dream, thrive, and build a prosperous future.”
Logan, along with Premier David Eby, will speak during the Celebrating Natural Resources Banquet tomorrow. (Tuesday)
There will be several speakers during the Official Conference opening, which kicks off at 8:30 Wednesday morning:
- Lheidli T’enneh Elder Darlene McIntosh
- Cariboo-Prince George MP Todd Doherty
- Prince George-Peace River-Northern Rockies MP Bob Zimmer
- Prince George-Mackenzie MLA Kiel Giddens
- Prince George Mayor Simon Yu
- General Manager of Communities and Social Performance Rio Tinto Claudine Gagnon
Keynote speakers for the conference include:
- Minister of Forests Ravi Parmar
- CN Rail VP of Network Operations Cassandra Mullee
- BC Hydro President and CEO Chris O’Riley
- Minister of Local Government and Rural Communities Brittny Anderson
