The Cougars broke a 1-1 tie with a pair of goals in the first three minutes of the 3rd period before 2,899 hometown fans.

Captain Riley Heidt notched a goal and two assists while Josh Ravensbergen made 26 saves in the victory.
Giants sniper Cameron Schmidt, who is from Prince George, scored his league-leading 29th goal and added an assist for Vancouver.
The (23-10-3-2) Cougars host the (19-15-4) Giants again tonight (Wednesday) at 7:00.
Prince George leads the B.C. Division by two points over the (21-11-3-4) Victoria Royals with P.G. holding a game in hand.
The Royals beat the Seattle Thunderbirds 4-1 on Tuesday night.

The Cougars on Tuesday added depth to their back end as they acquired 19-year-old defenceman Aleksey Chichkin from the Regina Pats in return for a fourth-round pick in 2027.
Chichkin has 7 points and 55 penalty minutes in 32 games with the Pats this season.
