The Prince George Ski Club (PGSC) will be hosting their second annual Pub Night Fundraiser on Saturday.
The Club has been providing alpine ski training to Prince George youth athletes for decades.
According to Club Vice-President Kristi Francis, fundraising plays a crucial role in the club being able to offer affordable ski racing development programs.
“Through a variety of fundraising initiatives and the work of a great number of volunteers, the PGSC is able to maintain our program registration costs as some of the lowest in the province,” Francis said.
“These fundraising efforts make a big difference in making the sport of ski racing more accessible to Prince George families.”
Francis said this season has been challenging so far for the club, with Purden Ski Resort, their primary hill, closed and uncertainty surrounding an opening.
This has led to the club having to explore other training venues, such as the Hart Ski Hill, Troll Ski Resort, Powder King, and Murray Ridge.
“While their support has been invaluable, it’s come at an additional cost for both our club and the families that participate in our programs,” Francis said.
The Pub Night Fundraiser will take place on Saturday, January 11th, at Trench Brewing, with doors opening at 6:00 pm.
Included in the $65 ticket is a full dinner with smoked prime rib, mashed potatoes and plenty of sides.
It will also feature live music, a silent auction and a 50/50 raffle, with all proceeds directly supporting PGSC programming.
Tickets are limited and can be purchased by emailing [email protected].
