Northern BC Crime Stoppers had a good year as it heads into Crime Stoppers Month and its 40th year.
In 2024, the program recovered $371,400, bringing its recovery amount to $39,921,349 since 1985.
Vice President Ron Polillo says that’s the most they’ve recovered in the last couple years.
“That is including all property recovered, cash recovered, drugs seized so, it was actually a really standout year for us in those three categories, and overall in terms of recovery of property, cash, and drugs.”
The program also processed 979 tips across 30 communities, which Polillo says is on par compared to the year prior.
Well over half the tips came from Prince George, with others coming from Dawson Creek, Terrace, Prince Rupert, Mackenzie, Vanderhoof, Fraser Lake, Fort St. James, and Williams Lake.
Polillo added they will be at the Sirens Cup January 25th, at the Kopar Memorial Arena to talk about their program.
