Gas station robbery in PG leads to three arrests

Three suspects were quickly arrested on Monday, after robbing a Prince George gas station.

At around 8:30pm, RCMP responded to the theft at the Petro Can on the 11400 block of Carmel Drive, where the gas station attendant stated two people went into the store demanding money and cigarettes, leaving in a waiting red pickup truck.

Corporal Jennifer Cooper says officers saw the truck driving eastbound down Peden Hill.

“The vehicle failed to stop for police and took off at a high rate of speed. It was later located at the intersection of Highway 97 North and Tenth Avenue, where it had been involved in a collision with another vehicle.”

“The suspects fled in different directions, but were all located quickly by police officers.”

Cooper says all three were taken to the detachment, but have since been released on Undertakings with future court dates.

She notes the driver and passenger of the other vehicle involved in the collision were taken to hospital with minor injuries.

The pickup truck was also found to have been stolen from Fort St. James earlier that day.

Cooper added “this is another example of the great police work being done in Prince George, to have all suspects arrested within 25 minutes of the report being made, despite them fleeing from police and traveling halfway across the City.”

The investigation is ongoing.
