November was a decent month for building permit values in Prince George.
That’s according to a report presented to City Council at this week’s meeting.
Last month, the City of Prince George issued a total of 40 building permits worth a combined $13.9 million.
New industrial developments led the way for value, with two permits issued worth a combined $6.4 million.
Additionally, five permits were issued for new single-family dwellings, worth a combined $3 million.
As of the end of November, the City has issued 394 building permits so far this year, worth a combined $260.8 million.
“The numbers that we’ve been seeing this year, the amounts for sure have exceeded our previous years, but also the numbers of permits,” said Director of Planning and Development Deanna Wasnik.
“The types of permits being processed and issued are a mixture of all types, it’s not just one specific category that’s taking the lead with the values that are being calculated.”
Wasnik added a number of permits are currently being processed, which is a positive sign heading into the new year.
