Sasaki sends the mitts flying as Spruce Kings double up on Rivermen

If you ask the St. Vincent de Paul society, they might say Kazumo Sasaki scored the biggest goal for the Prince George Spruce Kings in a 6-3 win over the Langley Rivermen.

Sasaki opened the Spruce Kings’ scoring, prompting the 1,404 fans at Kopar Memorial Arena to throw mittens, socks, toques and more on the ice.

Fans did so for the Spruce Kings’ annual “Drop the Gloves and Sock it to Em,” game, which benefits the St. Vincent de Paul Society.

Sasaki’s first on the night cut the Rivermen’s lead to two, after Luke Pfoh opened the scoring with a pair for Langley.
