Drake Matthew Kerr’s second-degree murder case shifted to PG

A Mackenzie man who was arrested by the RCMP for second-degree murder in October will have his matter heard in a Prince George courtroom.

On October 4th, Drake Matthew Kerr was taken into police custody following a suspicious death that occurred in Mackenzie.

Following a brief court proceeding yesterday (Wednesday), a date will now be fixed for a preliminary hearing on December 17th in PG.

In the early morning hours of September 29th, the Mackenzie RCMP responded to a shots fired call at a residence located on 100 block of Centennial Drive.

Frontline officers attended the scene and located a male deceased inside of the residence.

From there, the North District Major Crimes Unit took over the investigation.
