A longtime member of the Northern Capitals Female Under-18 hockey program will be taking her talents east next season.
Today (Wednesday), Staysha Heibert committed to the University of Windsor Lancers starting in 2025-26.
Hiebert, a 17-year-old from Cecil Lake has spent the past four seasons with the Caps and is the franchise leader in points by a defenseman with 35.
She has also played the most regular season games ever by a Capitals player at 110 and counting.
The Capitals (6-7-0-1) are back in action Saturday (1:15pm) and Sunday (7:45 AM) with a pair of home games against the Vancouver Island Seals (5-12-0-0).
