United Way BC’s Tree of Lights returns for another holiday season

For its 6th year, United Way British Columbia has brought back the annual Tree of Lights to Prince George.

They said in a news release until December 20th, the organization will be accepting donations to light the tree, with all proceeds going back to the community.

The Tree of Lights raised nearly $30,000 for children and youth last year, bringing United Way BC’s School’s Out program to Prince George, providing after-school activities, and ensuring kids receive the support needed while developing critical life skills.

Throughout the campaign, sections of the tree are lit from bottom to top, acting as a thermometer of success, bringing the tree to life once the goal is reached.

The goal is set for $40,000, and the tree can be found in the lobby of the Coast Prince George Hotel.

More information about the Tree of Lights can be found on United Way BC’s website here.
