Prince George City Council was presented with an update to the City’s grant program at this week’s meeting.
This includes a phased budget enhancement for the Community Grants Program over three years, starting in 2025.
“This option also introduces new grant streams tailored to meet the needs of the not-for-profit sector,” said Director of Civic Facilities and Events Andy Beesley.
Additionally, a staff report states the Celebrate PG grant will continue in its current form for 2024/2025, and in 2026, it will merge with the myPG project grant budget, becoming part of the Community Grants Program.
The Sport PG grant will also be incorporated into the Community Grants Program, but will remain unchanged.
These changes were made with consultation from several not-for-profit organizations in the city.
City Council first voted on options for these grants in March.
