Community Futures and the Vanderhoof Chamber of Commerce will be hosting an all candidates forum.
It runs Friday October 9th at 7pm (doors are 630pm) at the Integris Community Theatre at NVSS, formally called the “small auditorium”
Tom Bulmer with Community Futures says the forum will have a completely local focus.
“The format is going to be written questions as well as questions from the floor. We are leaving the topics wide open because most of the people in this area probably will want to ask how each of the candidates is going to look at local issues and local problems.”
He says that he’s received confirmation from all the candidates with the exception of Todd Doherty, but he says he remains optimistic and the invitation remains open. Doherty has confirmed his attendance at the UNBC debate in Prince George the day prior.
“I know the people in this town would like to get out and meet with each of the candidates.” Bulmer added “Rather than trying to meet each of them individually, we thought that putting on an all candidates forum would be the best way to go.”
Acting President of the Vanderhoof Chamber of Commerce Joe von Dollen will serve as moderator.
