“Bomb cyclone” brings special weather statement to Prince George area

Environment Canada has put the Prince George area under a special weather statement caused by coastal weather in the west.

Forecasters are calling it a “bomb cyclone” which occurs when a storm system sees a rapid fall in pressure, creating strong winds that will be experienced across most of the province.

They said in the statement strong winds may bring down trees or break tree limbs, delay travels, prepare for possible outages, and secure loose objects outside.

The fall storm is forecast to remain through Wednesday and includes 100 Mile House, Chilcotin, Cariboo, Stuart-Nechako, Lakes District, and Bulkley Valley.

More information can be found on Environment Canada’s website here.
