Canada West Basketball:

The UNBC Timberwolves visit the Regina Cougars in Canada West basketball.

The women meet tonight (Thursday 4:00 PST) and Friday (10 AM) while the men play on Friday and Saturday (5 PM both days).

UNBC is 1-3 in the women’s division and 0-4 in the men’s standings.

WHL:

The (11-4-3-2) Prince George Cougars, who are riding a 7-game point streak, host the
(7-7-1-1) Kelowna Rockets Friday and Saturday.

The Rockets beat the Seattle Thunderbirds 5-3 Wednesday night by scoring four unanswered goals in the 3rd period to erase a 3-1 deficit.

The Cougars are first in the B.C. Division by two points over the (11-5-2-1) Victoria Royals.

BCHL:

The (6-9-2-1) Prince George Spruce Kings visit the (8-7-3-1) Langley Rivermen Friday night at 7:15 and the (13-3-2) Chilliwack Chiefs Saturday night at 6:00.

NHL: (5 Wednesday games with one Canadian team in action)

Toronto  4  Washington  3  (OT)

The (8-3-3) Vancouver Canucks host the (6-6-4) New York Islanders tonight at 7:00.

It is game three of a six-game homestand for Vancouver.

There are 10 Thursday games in the NHL with five Canadian teams in action, including the 15-1 Winnipeg Jets who visit Tampa Bay (4:00).

PG High School Football:

The PG Bowl champion College Heights Cougars compete at the BC School Sports AA Provincial Football Championship in Burnaby.

College Heights, ranked 5th, will battle #4 Holy Cross Crusaders in the quarterfinals Friday afternoon at 1:00.

Two teams with winning records meet tonight (5:15) to begin the 11th week of the NFL season.

The (7-3) Washington Commanders are in Philadelphia to face the (7-2) Eagles.

Countdown continues to the 111th Grey Cup Game Sunday in Vancouver with kickoff just after 3:00.
