BC NDP keep majority government after Elections BC judicial recounts

Prince George – Mackenzie, Kelowna Centre, and Surrey-Guildford judicial recounts have been completed.

Elections BC held the recounts as a ballot box wasn’t counted or reported for Prince George – Mackenzie, with the other two ridings having close margins.

The updated voting results for Prince George – Mackenzie were:

  • Conservative Party, Kiel Giddens – 60.92% of total valid votes
  • BC NDP, Shar McCrory – 28.24% of total valid votes
  • BC Green Party, James Steidle – 8.49% of total valid votes
  • Independent, Rachel Weber – 2.34% of total valid votes

Kelowna Centre:

  • Conservative Party, Kristina Loewen – 42.85% of total valid votes
  • BC NDP, Loyal Wooldridge – 42.69% of total valid votes
  • Independent, Michael Humer – 10.15% of total valid votes
  • BC Green Party, Bryce Tippe – 4.31% of total valid votes

Surrey-Guildford:

  • BC NDP, Garry Begg – 46.93% of total valid votes
  • Conservative Party, Honveer Singh Randhawa – 46.81% of total valid votes
  • BC Green Party, Manjeet Singh Sahota – 4.32% of total valid votes
  • Independent, Kabir Qurban – 1.94% of total valid votes

The NDP keep the thin majority government of 47 seats with the victory in Surrey-Guildford.
