WHL:
On Community Heroes Weekend, the (9-4-3-2) Prince George Cougars host the Vancouver Giants Saturday night at 6:00 and Sunday afternoon at 2:00.
The Cougars lead the B.C. Division by two points over Victoria and by three over Vancouver.
The Giants top sniper is Cameron Schmidt of Prince George who leads the WHL in goals with 17 in just 15 games.

The PG Cougars have added forward Maxx Parfitt to their 50-player protected list.
Parfitt, who is from Penticton, has 21 points (15 goals) in 10 games this season with the Okanagan Hockey Academy’s U17 Program.

The (5-8-2-1) Prince George Spruce Kings host the (7-8) Cowichan Valley Capitals tonight (Friday) at 7:00 and Saturday night at 6:00.
The Spruce Kings are last in the 5-team Coastal East Division while the Capitals are third in the 5-team Coastal West Division.

The (8-2-1-1) Under-18 Cariboo Cougars visit the (4-4-1-1) Okanagan Rockets Saturday afternoon at 3:00 and Sunday morning at 10:00 in Kelowna.
Cariboo is in second place in the 8-team B.C. Elite Hockey League, a point behind the
(9-2-0-1) Valley West Giants.

The UNBC Timberwolves are in Victoria to play the Vikes in Canada West men’s and women’s basketball tonight and Saturday.
The UNBC women are 1-1 while the men sit 0-2.
Victoria is 2-0 in the men’s division and 1-1 in the women’s standings.
