Connor McDavid returned to the Oilers lineup after suffering an ankle injury early last week. He did not pick up a point in the game.

The (6-2-3) Vancouver Canucks conclude a 3-game California road trip tonight at 7:30 against the (8-3-3) Kings in LA.

It is one of a dozen Thursday games in the NHL with five Canadian teams in action.

WHL:

The (9-4-3-2) Prince George Cougars continue a 6-game homestand Saturday night at 6:00 and Sunday afternoon at 2:00 against the (9-4-2) Vancouver Giants on Community Heroes Weekend.

Prince George leads the B.C. Division by two points over Victoria and by three over Vancouver.

The Royals lost 6-4 Wednesday night to Kamloops in Victoria.

The Cougars are coming off a 5-4 Tuesday overtime loss to Saskatoon.

The PG Cougars have made an addition to their prospects pool.

According to the Leading Edge Hockey agency, the WHL club added forward Maxx Parfitt to its 50-player protected list.

Parfitt, who is from Penticton, has 21 points (15 goals) in 10 games so far this season with the Okanagan Hockey Academy’s U17 Program.

Last season, the six-foot-two-inch forward tallied 25 goals and 35 points in 26 games with Okanagan.

The (5-8-2-1) Prince George Spruce Kings host the (7-8) Cowichan Valley Capitals Friday night at 7:00 and Saturday night at 6:00.

Prince George is last in the 5-team Coastal East Division while Cowichan Valley is third in the 5-team Coastal West Division.

Canada West Basketball:

The UNBC Timberwolves visit the Victoria Vikes Friday and Saturday night in Canada West basketball.

The UNBC women are 1-1 while the men sit 0-2.

NFL: 

Week 10 of the NFL season starts tonight at 5:15 with Cincinnati at Baltimore.

It is a matchup of teams in the AFC North with the Ravens at 6-3 and the Bengals at 4-5.

The CFL Division Finals go Saturday starting at noon with Toronto at Montreal in the East.

That will be followed by Saskatchewan at Winnipeg at 3:30 in the West.
