PG RCMP catch two impaired drivers in the same vehicle on Central Street East

Two for the price of one.

Police in Prince George arrested two women who were found to be intoxicated while operating a motor vehicle during a recent incident.

At about 12pm on October 29th, local Mounties responded to a report of an impaired driver that had struck a parked car in a parking lot on the 1600-block of Central Street East.

Witnesses reported the parked vehicle and the suspect’s vehicle were stuck together at the bumpers.

“Police officers arrived at the location and found two women in a small, black SUV, which was stuck to a pickup truck. Witnesses stated that after the first collision, the driver and passenger switched spots in the vehicle. When the now-driver attempted to leave the parking lot, she ended up striking the same parked car as the original driver as well as a witness who was near the parked vehicle,” stated Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer.

The two women were each arrested for Impaired Operation of a motor vehicle and transported to the PG Detachment to provide breath samples as part of the investigation.

Both registered over the legal limit and were served with 24-hour driving prohibitions, as well as 90-day driving bans and will appear in court at a future date.

No injuries were reported in this incident.

The file remains open.
