WHL:

The Prince George Cougars begin a 6-game homestand tonight (Tuesday) at 7:00 against the Saskatoon Blades.

This is a matchup of division leaders.

The (9-4-2-2) Cougars lead the B.C. Division by two points over the Victoria Royals and the Vancouver Giants while the (10-3-1-1) Blades top the East by two points over the Swift Current Broncos.

Saskatoon is coming off a 5-4 Sunday shootout loss in Victoria where the Blades blew a 4-1 third period lead.

Connor McDavid is hoping to return to the Oilers lineup by the weekend.

The Edmonton Captain has returned to practice after suffering an ankle injury.

He was injured Monday of last week.

The (5-2-3) Vancouver Canucks continue a 3-game California road trip tonight at 7:00 in Anaheim against the (4-5-2) Ducks.

It is one of 11 Tuesday games in the NHL (with six Canadian teams in action).

BCHL: 

The (5-8-2-1) Prince George Spruce Kings host the (7-8) Cowichan Valley Capitals Friday night at 7:00 and Saturday night at 6:00.

Prince George is last in the 5-team Coastal East Division while Cowichan Valley is third in the 5-team Coastal West Division.

BC Elite Hockey League:

The (8-2-1-1) Under-18 Cariboo Cougars visit the (4-4-1-1) Okanagan Rockets Saturday afternoon at 3:00 and Sunday morning at 10:00 in Kelowna.

Cariboo is in second place in the 8-team B.C. Elite Hockey League, a point behind the
(9-2-0-1) Valley West Giants.

NFL: (Week 9)  Final game in Week 9

Kansas City  30  Tampa Bay  24  (OT)

The two-time defending champion Chiefs improved their perfect record to 8-0 while the Bucs slipped to 4-5.

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott will miss Sunday’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles with a right hamstring injury. There are media reports that Prescott could be sidelined for several weeks.

The (2-7) New Orleans Saints have fired head coach Dennis Allen and replaced him with
Special teams coordinator Darren Rizzi on an interim basis.

CFL:

The CFL is down to its final four.

The Division Finals go Saturday.

In the East, Toronto visits Montreal at noon.

In the West, Saskatchewan is at Winnipeg at 3:30.

The winners meet in the 111th Grey Cup on Sunday, November 17th in Vancouver.

PG High School Football:

College Heights won the PG Bowl North Zone High School Football Championship by outscoring Nechako Valley 14-7 at Masich Place Stadium.

College Heights advances to the BC School Sports Football Championship.

They are ranked 5th in AA, and will battle #4 Holy Cross at the provincials.

Canada West Basketball:

The UNBC Timberwolves head to Vancouver Island to play the Victoria Vikes Friday and Saturday night in Canada West basketball.

The UNBC women are 1-1 while the men sit 0-2.

Victoria is 2-0 in the men’s division and 1-1 in the women’s standings.
