Prince George residents will have two more opportunities to have their say on new Official Community Plan.
The city’s planning team will be at the Pine Centre Mall from 10am to 4pm on November 13th and 20th, where people can take the survey and provide feedback.
The draft Official Community Plan (OCP), a critical document outlining a long-term vision and comprehensive framework for development, land use, and community growth through to 2050.
In this final phase launching this week, the City will release the draft OCP for public review, refine it based on public input, and prepare it for council consideration in early 2025.
Feedback will be gathered utilizing a final survey that is available online until November 22.
“From shaping our neighborhoods to preserving our natural spaces, the OCP sets the stage for a balanced future,” said Kali Holahan, Supervisor of Land Use Planning.
“This is the final opportunity for residents to make their voices heard, ensuring that the policies in our OCP reflect the community’s values and aspirations.”
The OCP is the product of an extensive 18-month planning process, including research, technical analysis, and input from residents, landowners, business owners, and community organizations across the city.
The Community Plan Review was publicly launched in September of 2023.
In July, council received an update on community feedback so far, future engagement opportunities and next steps.
