Canada’s supply chain could be impacted by a labour dispute involving BC’s ports.
The International Longshore and Warehouse Union issued a 72-hour strike notice yesterday with the union then saying the BC Maritime Employers Association announced a full-scale lockout to close all BC ports on Monday.
The two sides met this week with the support of federal mediation. According to its website the Employers Association’s member terminals handled $180 billion worth of Canadian cargo in 2020.
